The Victoria Infirmary in Northwich (VIN) will be closed on Saturday 19 September 2026 for essential electrical works.

Teams will be on-site to upgrade critical parts of the electrical infrastructure, which are over 20 years old and no longer fit for purpose.

While many services do not operate on Saturdays, there will be some changes to accommodate the closure.

The Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) and GP out-of-hours (OOH) service will be relocated to Leighton Hospital in Crewe for the day. MIU will be located within the Emergency Department, while GP OOH will be in the Urgent Treatment Centre.

Patients with existing appointments for the likes of phlebotomy, X-ray, ultrasound and CT services have already been informed about the closure.

The VIN will re-open as per normal operating times on Sunday 20 September 2026.
